Sammie Gail Sanders Children’s Learning Center supports, encourages and loves children of all abilities. It is a place full of laughter, accomplishment, and acceptance...where “work is play,” and where little miracles happen every day!


The following services will be provided for children that are ages 6 weeks through 5 years of age:

Early Intervention (6 weeks - 3 years)

Nutrition Services

These programs are regulated by Arkansas Department of Education, Department of Human Services, Division of Child Care, Developmental Disabilities Services, Medicaid and Children Health Management Services. Funding is from Medicaid, Department of Human Services (Federal and State), Private Pay Child Care, Private Insurance and USDA for Preschool Services.

Programs

CHILDCARE / SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM

We offer inclusive programs for normally developing children and children with special needs. These programs offer individualized habilitation that are age and developmentally appropriate.


EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAM

A special needs program for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years is offered through the Early Intervention Program that helps children reach important milestones and goals. Parents and primary caregivers are given the information and tools needed to assist their child in developing into capable young boys and girls.


PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

Preschool services are a facility-based program designed to provide specialized services to children ages 3 and up who have been diagnosed as developmentally disabled or developmentally delayed and who are not school age. Our preschool offers unique opportunities through a curriculum that teaches pre-academic skills.


Services

Early Intervention & Preschool Program Services

Teachers work one-on-one with each child and engage in group activities to address the followingneeds:

  • Self -help skills
  • Social and emotional skills
  • Fine motor and gross motor skills
  • Communication skills
  • Cognitive skills

Developmental Day Treatment Clinic Services

Developmental Day Treatment Clinic Services may be furnished only by Developmental Disabilities Services licensed comprehensive day treatment centers offering as core services both habilitation training and diagnosis and evaluation services.

Developmental Day Treatment Clinic Services in qualified facilities may be covered only when they are provided to outpatients, determined medically necessary for the child, provided according to a written prescription by a physician and provided according to a written plan of care.


Therapy Services

Therapy Services include physical, speech or occupational therapy, as defined by applicable State and Federal rules and regulations, which comprise an essential component of the care plan of a person accepted for developmental disabilities services.


Habilitation Training

Habilitation Training is instruction in areas such as self- help, socialization, communication, etc. Habilitation Training must be based on the goals and objectives included in the care plan for the person. Habilitation Training will enable the person to gain reasonable skills. This training must occur wholly in clinical settings licensed by Developmental Disabilities Services.


Additional Services Offered

  • Complete developmental evaluations for children
