The Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas awarded a $1,000 mini-grant to AEDD for our Wellness Junkie Program. Thank you Blue Cross Blue Shield for your generous support of AEDD!

AEDD recently received a $25,000 grant from the Heart of Arkansas United Way to fund expansion of the sensory room at the Lacy Landers Adult Skills Training Center in Little Rock.

Expansion of the sensory room will enhance services for individuals with sensory issues such as Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. A larger area will accommodate individuals with sensory issues to provide additional space for free movement and allow for workstation areas to be implemented. The installation of soundproofing and controlled lighting in the renovated area will provide a user-friendly environment for individuals with sensory issues and help them learn to cope with their disability in a more positive manner. Additional therapy equipment will provide innovative workstations for individuals using the sensory room on a daily basis.

AEDD has been associated with the Heart of Arkansas United Way for over thirty years is and values our longstanding relationship as a United Way Agency.

3M Corporation donated approximately $9,000 in office supplies to AEDD through a partnership with Good 360. 3M employees Kevin Moseley and Gwendolyn McGraw were instrumental in securing the donation for AEDD. Thank you 3M!

Briggs Equipment of Little Rock donated $10,000 to help with expansion of the sensory room at the Lacy Landers Skills Training Center. The donation was presented at the Auxiliary Service Day luncheon at the Landers Center on June 13, 2013.
